  • Review Curriculum and develop unit plans, lesson plans and curriculum map
  • Gather required technology and furniture (projector, computer, filing cabinets, shelves, chairs, printer etc.), resource material (text books, teacher guides, reference books, historical fiction books, etc) and classroom supplies (notebooks, pencils, markers, whiteboard erasers, cleaning supplies, paper, posters, etc.)
  • Clean and set up classroom/hang posters & decorate
  • Reach out to co-workers and administration to build relationships to collaborate
  • Create template for letters, reports, hall passes, progress reports, awards & recognitions, homework andclass work reports etc.
  • Review student data to pre-assess their strengths and weaknesses
  • Create seating chart, classroom rules and label stations in the classroom
  • If possible reach out to parents prior to the start of school via phone calls or letters
